Kitten Season

Broward County Animal Services Needs your Help!

As many of you may know, each year, our Adoption Center is overwhelmed during Kitten Season—the high breeding time for cats.  When you hear the words “Kitten Season,” you may picture cute, fluffy kittens, but to our staff, this means thousands of kittens continually entering our shelter from Spring through Fall.
The fact remains that we simply do not have enough staff or budget to support the number of litters we must handle each day—particularly orphaned, young kittens who must be bottle-fed around the clock to survive.  Without a human relationship they will die.
That is why we are asking for your help to be part of the solution this year.  If you have fostered for us before, can you help to foster again this year?  If you have adopted a pet from us, can you find time to foster a litter of kittens or bottle feed some kittens for a week or two?
Together, we will be able to save as many cats and kittens as possible. Together, we will adopt them into new loving homes. If you can assist, please contact us at foster@broward.org.  We thank you in advance for your consideration and support!
