Solar Eclipse in Scorpio Nov. 13th

You may not know this but in ancient times an Astrologer could have been beheaded for not warning the royal court or rulers, about an impending eclipse.  For centuries eclipses have predicted doom, destruction and served as an omen for rulers, predicting the fate of countries, kings, politics and global events.

In some cultures the population would hide in their houses making sure they didn’t receive the light emanating from an eclipse.

Eclipses don’t have to be such predecessors to doom and gloom be sure to check your natal birth chart to see if this month’s eclipses occur at the same degree of any of your natal planets, house cusps or what houses the eclipses is occurring in.  It’s sure to ignite everything that house symbolizes.

A Total Solar Eclipse on Nov. 13^Th, 2012 occurs in Scorpio and conjoins the Lunar North Node at 21°57’ Scorpio making this a very karmic eclipse and one that could influence regenerative and productive change in your personal life and the collective whole. It could open new doors in diplomacy, cooperation, be a boon for marriages, and allow for deeper commitments in love relationships.

Mercury Retrograde Nov.6-Nov.26, 2012

When the planet Mercury goes retrograde its effects are less effective than when the planet is direct. What does that mean? Retrogrades are good for taking your time in doing things, not rushing, for learning things thoroughly and researching and asking questions, getting a lot of opinions and buying time. Mercury goes retrograde about 3 times per year giving us all added time to negotiate, ask questions and perfect whatever’s going on in our lives at that time. Do you retreat from life and business? No, you simply become more careful and selective. If you are in tune you will naturally do this, and there won’t be a problem. However, if you are anxious and nervous and not in a good place in time; Mercury retrograde could cause problems for you. As one of the personal planets, Mercury rules our daily activities, communications, computers, short travels in the car, by bus or any other transportation. It rules communications; telephones, computers, and agreements, and misunderstandings.
When a planet is in its storm, it means that the planet is nearing retrograde or coming out of retrograde and its movements are slower. Which is still good for things that require our time, our efforts and in many cases keep us from making mistakes, If our processes are slower we will approach people, things and new ventures more carefully and with a lot more patience and thought. This is needed in the case of research.
In its shadow it is repeating the degrees of the retrograde period. The theory goes that we will repeat the events or experiences that took place during the repeated degrees. A planet makes its first pass, goes retrograde and makes its 2nd pass over the same degrees, has 2 retrograde degree points, known as the it’s station or stationary points or stationary degree and repeats the same degrees once more in it’s 3rd pass through. Approximately 3 times per year the planet Mercury appears to go in apparent retrograde motion this usually lasts for about 18 days. It goes backwards and, repeats the degrees over again and then again when it goes apparent direct. Giving 3 opportunities to repeat, review, and re-enact some portion of our lives and experiences. Mercury in retrograde is not really moving backwards, it moves away from the Earth in its orbit.
Mercury retrograde gives us the opportunity to reassess and renegotiate. It slows us down so that we don't feel as if life is moving at warp speed.

Mercury in Aries: Prone to exaggeration or making things bigger than they are. Impulsive, quick witted, likes to argue, generally gives a restless mind. begins projects quickly , not so good at finishing them though.

Mercury in Taurus: Earthy Taurus gives a quite and determined mind. practical, and determined when developing mental agile ness. Learns through, love of pleasure, and fond of the opposite sex. Good judgment but, opinionated.

Mercury in Gemini: This is the home placement for Mercury making it very strong in it's own sign. Clever, quick witted, sees both sides of everything, would make a good lawyer, likes, reading writing, and learning new things.

Mercury in Cancer: Good memory rests here. Diplomacy, faithful, and sensitive. Spiritually inclined, able to mentally verbalize and express feelings and emotions to others.

Mercury in Leo: Ambitious, self confident, and kind or big hearted. Fond of sports and pleasurable activities. talent in singing or acting. Love of drama, acting and giving 100%.

Mercury in Virgo: this is the home for Mercury as mercury rules virgo and additionally it's the place of mercury's exaltation. here Mercury self confidence and a selfless attitude. Mercury placed here is prudent, careful and meticulous. the powers of persuasion are great and mercury can talk anyone into anything. Quiet, critical yet skeptical.

Mercury in Libra: Quiet, good memory, must make own decision, bad decisions will be made when others lead. An artistic nature and natural abilities for inventions and math.

Mercury in Scorpio: Bold and brave mercury placed here can be sarcastic and biting in speech. Prone to being shrewd and lewd. Pleasure seeking, trouble indicted with friends and family.

Mercury in Sagittarius: Mercury is in it's detriment here. Working out mistakes, learning and experiencing life. Ambitious, sincere yet rash and impulsive.

Mercury goes retrograde on Election Day the last time the planet Mercury changed direction during an election was in the year 2000 the Bush vs. Gore Election when Mercury went direct on Election Day and it took 33 days to find out who really own the election. Jupiter was also retrograde in Gemini during the 2000 elections! Get out and Vote!

Hurricane Sandy

Typically bad weather is predictable when Mercury and Mars are in challenging aspects. The planet Mars in Sagittarius opposed Jupiter _RX in Gemini and this contributed to windy weather. Jupiter represents anything expansive, large and impressive in the sign of Mercury's ruler ship Gemini which rules air. Mercury has been aspecting the Lunar Nodes and now Neptune which rules the sea. So some of the affects of Hurricane Sandy could  be felt through late January 2013.

 

The Lunar Nodes when aspected cause a period of temporary inactivity.  It seems things are on hold, have come to a halt or we are waiting for something to happen or something to pass when the Lunar Nodes are transited.  This week both Venus and Mercury aspected the lunar nodes which contributed to a change of circumstances, and made it appear that things were on hold as we waited for things beyond our control like the weather or events in our life to occur or pass.  The effects of Hurricane Sandy may last through late January 2013. 
These same aspects can impact our personal lives too.  Events, circumstances and things beyond our control can have long term influences and cause changes in our personal lives now too.

 

November 2012 Another fine mess!

With 2 Eclipses in November 2012 the month could turn out to be quite intense. Not only does the planet of communications and intelligence go retrograde on Election Day creating the perfect storm for an election foul up but the planet Neptune, notorious for pulling the wool over everyone's eyes Neptune goes direct. Jupiter in the sign of Mercury's stronghold, Gemini is retrograding so let the games begin.

The Uranus Pluto Square

The planet Pluto God of the underworld and ruler of the sign of Scorpio and the 8^th house resumes direct motion at 6°27 Capricorn, a day before the notorious Uranus _RX -Pluto square.  It’s important to note that this time Uranus _RX is retrograde its influence is felt more subconsciously, while Pluto is direct and its influence more direct and powerful.  Equally important to note that it’s a New Moon cycle that culminates with the Full Moon at 7°22 Aries, 9/29,  and conjoins Uranus and Pallas both retrograde.  Since Uransu and Pallas are both retrograde thier combined influences are more subtle, even more angry than usual.  Pluto suggests we are running on gut raw instinct to preserve and protect what we have and the New Moon says what Uranus was whispering all the time, ”There’s something new,  greater and better ahead, let it go.”

When analyzing Birth Charts and making predictions I always look for two things 1.  What makes this person great and 2.  Is there anything crazy about this person?  Not a joke, that’s just the way I look at birth charts. It makes sense because when you talk to as many people as I do you need to know how to approach them.  I think Barack Obama will be reelected for the following reasons, and I’m just going to add that in October it’s going to be a dirty nasty campaign, and a close one. The month of December 2012, afflicts both of their charts.  Giving rise to the question do either make it to the presidency.

Mitt Romney is a Pisces, as was Einstein.  What makes him great?  His Moon is in Scorpio conjunct Jupiter very close to the Lunar South Node in Sagittarius.  The man has blind luck.  Many really great people have the Nodes conjunct their personal planets. His Pluto is sextile Neptune the ruler of his Mars, Mercury, and Sun in Pisces, so he’s charming and has a dream. He’s focused on getting what “he wants”

The crazy part:  the very thing that makes him great and driven towards success the Moon in Scorpio makes him extremely selfish to the point of being oblivious of anyone else.  The Lunar South Nodes square Mars in Pisces, could lead him to have too many irons in the fire and be unproductive, but talk a mean game. The Moon in Scorpio is notorious for being one of the worst placements for the Moon, because of it's emotional detachment.  he cares about his family and that's about it.  He's secretive, always has an agenda and doesn't do anything without knowing what's in it for him.

Barack Obama is a Leo.  What makes him great?  The Lunar North Node conjunct the Planet Uranus, makes him a visionary, Mars and Pluto in Virgo gives an attention to detail and a love of working hard and being of service to others.  He sees himself as a boy scout. He's a Leo like many presidents have been, and as such loves attention. In the 6th house he'll work hard for attention, he thrives on the attention.  The planet Pluto and Mars are in the sign of Virgo, a sign the represents service to others, and the Mars-Pluto combination suggests he works overtime.



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Face yourself and your Fears It's September

As September begins many inevitable changes are taking place.  The Lunar Nodes entered Scorpio and Taurus respectively, the North Node entered Scorpio and the South Node Taurus.  The Lunar Nodes transit backwards except when retrograde then they transit forwards.  As the Lunar Nodes began they’re transit through Scorpio and Taurus they started at the fated degree of 29°.  The last degree of any sign is called the “Anaretic Degree or Fated Degree”.  It can indicate left over karma from a prior lifetime or unfinished business in this lifetime. This transit along with Mars entrance into the sign of Scorpio is very telling as to what we can expect from Saturn’s transit beginning in October through the sign of Scorpio.

Mars tells the story of how Saturn’s transit will begin and perhaps the Lunar North Node in Scorpio is suggestive of the direction things should and can go.  As the planets transit through Scorpio events and circumstances seem final, just as death seems final to us.  Not really though, we all have an entrance date into this world, called the birth date and entrance date into the next world, and each date marks the exit from the prior world. The sign of Scorpio rules many things, like the surgeon’s scalpel, death and re-birth, transformation, determination, sharing, selfish desires, intimacy, and everything that belongs to the underworld and the dark side.  Everyone is asked repeatedly to face his or her worst fears, death, and demons.  These transits bring out the part of yourself, which you loathe the most; your ugly side, and that most destructive, jealousy, envious part of you, will come out during these transits.  It’s your challenge to look at yourself, change some things, grow, and move on. This week's Horoscope

The planet of communications Mercury goes direct and aspects the Lunar North Node in Sagittarius and the lunar South Node in Gemini.  Mercury is considered the messenger planet, as it aspects a planet, astrological point or asteroid, etc, it gives an indication of what the planet, astrological point or asteroid, etc has planned for you.  As Mercury aspects the lunar Nodes, karma, destiny, and fate come into play.  In this case Mercury rules the sign of Gemini where the Lunar South Node is transiting.  Mercury s related to mental stress, communications, the ability to sway others opinions and day to day activities; anytime a planet aspects the nodes, things are on hold.  Destined and fated events can happen.  Call for more details.

The South Node and Vesta

This week the Lunar South Node at 3* Gemini is very close to the asteroid Vesta ruler of our inner space, devotion to something greater cause than ourselves .  In the sign of Gemini along with the South Node retreating to re-charge and have a positive rejuvenating conversation with ourselves goes much better than having a conversation with other.  Withdrawing from communications to conserve energy, to prepare for something great and to emerge at a later date with something great to say or do, is what it’s all about.

Vesta in mythology was the keeper of the golden flame, the Vestal Virgins, and temple guardians.  Vesta rules confinement, tight spaces, devotion, fanaticism, the type of maddening devotion without which no great thing is ever accomplished.  So if you’re having relationship troubles you should look at where Vesta is transiting or placed in your Natal Birth Chart. In Aries solar 3^rd house of communications what you say and how you say or even if you will share your thoughts comes into greater focus.  There’s more on the line and Aries needs to keep mum about plans right now.

MAC Cosmetics Heavenly Creatures Launch

I had a great evening with MAC Cosmetics and the launch of their New Product line Heavenly Creatures.  Since I love all things planetary I was especially excited about this color palette based on the array of colors in our Galaxy.  Astrology especially vedic astrology lends itself to the use of color as a way to enhance specific planetary attributes. For example, if you're going out for an evening of Fun and hope to attract someone special MAC's color eye Shadow "Magnetic Attraction" is a slurry of about 77 minerals hand packed in Italy and more importantly is a swirl of RED for the planet MARs and yellow for the planet VENUS, I think that says it all. I love it!
Thier color "Water" eye shadow reflected the colors of the ocean perfectly and would be great for Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.  Bright Moon looked the color of the Moon and could be worn by Cancer but also by anyone wanting to feel or make others feel calm and nurtured! July lucky or bust!

Life seems like a roulette wheel when the planet Neptune _RX in Pisces, ruler of faith, hope, illusion, fakes and phonies, is retrograde as it comes into a square with the destiny timers, the Lunar Nodes.  Along with the planet of luck Jupiter in Gemini the sign of its detriment, our ability to influence others, communicate, freely, learn, and travel could be impaired, hindered, not go as well as expected or go better than expected. Jupiter and Neptune aspecting the Lunar Nodes is like a scratch off lottery ticket.  You bought it and now you have to see if you win!

June 24th Uranus in Aries square Pluto RX in Capricorn

The good news is that even though Uranus squares Pluto is a heady transit, on June 24 Pluto _RX is retrograde in Capricorn and then the next time the square culminates on September 19^th Uranus will be retrograde.  It’s impossible to experience the full effects of this potent square  when one of the parties is hiding.  Upon close examination it’s only during the last Uranus square Pluto transiting aspects on March 17^th 2015 at 15* degrees that both planets are direct.  It’s almost as if they are taking turns when squaring each other.  When one planet is direct the other is out of orbit, its influence much less than when it’s direct.  Or as some might say its influence goes underground and is felt more on a subconscious level. Since Uranus in Aries rules young and new and Pluto in Capricorn rules old and established we can see through the retrogrades who’s influence is stronger.
