Astrology is a language

I know sometimes I can get a bit technical when talking about astrology and at times I have had to bring the level down so that everyone can understand and learn.  I love the quote from reknowned astrologer Dane Rudhyar that "Astrology is a language and if you understand the language the skies speak to you".
My friend and collague Nick Fiorenza said to me "you have a way of making the most complex astrological aspects easy to understand for the lay person".  I continue my quest and calling to make astrology something everyone can understand and love.

Spring Equinox 2010

The Spring Equinox has been celebrated for centuries.  The alignment of the Sun to the Earth's equator signifies something, but what?  For those spiritually minded it signifies a portal opening or an alignment that allows energy to come through to Earth.  The Mayans showed it best on El Castillo where thousands of tourist come each year to watch the snake god slowly crawl down the steps to Earth, as he does time after time each year.

The Spring Equinox

Saturday March 20th marks the Sun's entrance into Aries, the 1st sign of the zodiac and The Vernal or Spring Equinox.  For the Northern Hemisphere that means warmer weather and for the Southern Hemisphere colder weather.
For thousands of years the Spring Equinox has been celebrated, revered and even worshiped.  It is the day of equal daylight and equal night.  A shift in polarization of the planet and even your life.

Are you a Sun or a Moon person?

Did you ever stop to think that just the time of day or night you were born makes a difference in your personality?

Since the Moon gets its light from the reflection of the Sun if you were born at night you might try harder to be like someone else or need someone to be your solar light. You could be more inclined to have a favorite mentor or teacher, someone you could emulate.

People born with the Sun shining brightly at Noon might be too bright for others to get close to.

People born at sunrise are special because when we look at a Sunrise we are often happy to se the dawning of the new day, there’s anticipation, to watch night become day again. Many of us wish we watched more sunrises.

Uranus and Neptune in Tandem

It’s important to remember a few things that are influencing not only your life but the lives of others around you and the world. Since none of us live in a bubble we have to interact with others and live on this planet together. What influences your brother or sister, husband, wife, boss and co-worker impacts you life as well. We all know what’s it’s like to go to work and someone there is having a bad day. Or come home from a hard day’s work to find your partner isn’t having the best of times. We hear all the time how people’s lives are affected by the random actions of others be they intentional or not.


The planets that impact our collective experience are Uranus and currently Neptune, Why? Uranus and the sign of Aquarius are the collective consciousness. Uranus and Neptune are transiting in tandem in a parallel aspect and working as one along with Chiron. They are also intercepted, meaning that each one is in the others sign of rulership. Uranus is transiting Neptune’s sign of rulership, Pisces and Neptune is transiting Uranus sign of rulership Aquarius. They are working as one powerful influence. This has been going on for some time. This all changes in the future when Uranus enters Aries, the place of Mars rulership. Additionally Neptune in the future will enter its strongest placement and sign of rulership Pisces. Aries is the 1st sign or the zodiac and Neptune the last, and the theme becomes beginnings and endings. The message is wake up out of your dream and face reality. Don’t expect others to make a difference that responsibility falls on each of our shoulders. Uranus in Aries starts over, begins fresh and dynamically or abruptly so.

Mars retrograde and going direct at 0* Leo suggests we all have It in us to do things differently. A little less of us and a little more of others will go a long way. The 5th house and the sign of Leo, have a far deeper meaning. On a more spiritual level they represent where we have good fortune and good luck from the good deeds and the good we have done in this lifetime and others. Is it a time of judgment, are we being judged and weighed according to our merits right now. Saturn in Libra suggests yes we are.

Full Moon in Virgo but that's not all!

At 11:30 a.m. est The Full Moon occurs & opposes Jupiter in Pisces. Jupiter in Pisces relates to our Earth's Oceans. We all know that Full Moons affect tides, emotions and Moods. With global warming and earthquakes triggering, water events perhaps we are not out of the woods yet with flooding or tsunamis.

The Full Moon in Virgo on Sunday Feb 28th

The Moon is growing in Fullness this week, making it a week to get things done.  Getting organized and finishing what you have already started isn't always on our wish list, but it just got easier.  The mutable signs can do multiple tasks at one time. This Full Moon in Virgo could presure those around you and make everyone a bit nit picky and cranky.  Don't you be that way though.  Work hard and use the energy of the week to catch up get all the little things done. You'll be glad you did!

Planetary Obstacle Course

As far as the eye can see the aspects just keep heating up.  To succeed you have to be in it, to win it and for the long haul. Saturn and Mars both retrograde, transit in tandem this week. There will be your usual slow downs and inconveniences, keep going though.

Feeling the Winter Blahs?

Mars retrograde in Leo definitely influences how we feel and what we get accomplished.  Since the ruler of the sign of Leo is the Sun, and Mars is heat and fire we are lacking in both right now!  Hold on just a bit longer though Mars resumes direct motion and should heat up things nicely by March 10th.

Valentines Day

As Valentine's Day approaches the outer planets align and try their best to make you feel loved again.  If you've grown numb Venus the planet of love makes you believe in love once more.

Jupiter sextile Pluto

As Jupiter sextiles Pluto it's time to change the way we look at "bad" things...and realize that there's a blessing in all the little annoying things that happen to us.  We learn something from everything including the "bad" things and people we encounter.
Today somethng you though was a "bad" thing turns out to be a blessing in disguise.

Pink's Grammy Performance

Pink's performance at the Grammy Awards addressed her pain.  How so? The 8th house of death and rebirth can make people be dare devels and tempt fate and even death by doing dangerous things. The 8th house represents among other things that deep pain and suffering from lovers. Pink's album FUNHOUSE addressed her divorce.

Pluto The Seen and the Unseen the 2nd Saturn square Pluto

Pluto God of the underworld reminds us who is God and who is mortal.  Earthquakes are the Earth's way of renewing itself.  The old Earth disappears into the molten lava and the new Earth takes it's place.  What is no longer useful or good gets taken away and always replaced by something new and good. We can build cities, create great things but they can be gone in a moment as we are reminded that we are just mortal. The Earth will be here long after each one of us is gone.
