Bottle Trees steeped in ancient african folklore

Bottle Tress are seen across the world.  Steeped in ancient African folklore a tradition brought to America by the African slaves and kept outside their quarters to ward off evil spirits.
They hoped that by hanging the bottles in on a tree, evil spirits would find their way into the blue bottles and become stuck. Since they wouldn’t be able to find their way back out again, they would remain in the bottle until morning. The morning sun would then destroy the spirits.I though this was interesting since in China they will be celebrating the Hungry Ghost Festival on  September 5, 2017. In other areas of the east the Hungry Ghost Festival begins in August!
